A drab corner in Chelsea has gotten a colorful lift from a new street art mural. This giant electric chicken riding a skateboard now brightens up the opening of Division Street, just 2 blocks from City Hall. Part of an alleyway activation project with Neighborways Design and City of Chelsea, Division Street is a car and pedestrian alley that links residential neighborhoods by the harbor to the city’s shopping and restaurant centre. The chicken design was one of several voted on by neighbors, and it won by a tidy margin, almost double the votes of the next contender. The installed mural has gotten great reviews from neighbors for its color and fun.
Its green motto: “Leave the car at home, ride a skateboard!”
