In my quest to do street paintings in Somerville, here is my proposal sketch for the Pearl Street Steps.
I’d like to decorate this staircases in honor of our longtime community friend Al Riskalla, who owned the ABJ Auto mechanics shop facing that small corner for many years, and was like a grandfather to many of us artists, geeks and MIT students who needed affordable car repair. This concept represents the soul’s journey to enlightenment, as personified by small, weird, antique automobiles.
